it all started with a answer machine message 8 years ago, your machine at the school had converted itself into German and I replied in very basic German... You found this funny and thats where it all began. I spoke to you nearly every day for nearly 6 years and then after, as our love of inappropriateness, music and cars was so enthusiastivally shared it couldn't just have ended on a "professional" note.  You became one of my most favourite people in our lives! I loved hearing about your escapades with your family, the cycling trips that always had a comical ending, mainly because you were trying to show off your skills to one of your son's that you spoke of with such passion and love.  your love of music and drums, the incredible connection you had with your daughter, how proud and in love with her. You were always so animated and happy speaking about them.  Also your wife, the stories you told had me crying with laughter, hiding drums in cupboards, trips where turnings were missed because the two of you were laughing so much.  I aspired to have that relationship with someone one day, and i am so pleased you got to meet Jamie, share an ale and a whiskey and lots of laughter in Cambridge on a few special occasions, especially a night before you were off to see your sisters, you were so happy to be going to see them and your family. So much love for them.  Always finishing a conversation with an unsuspecting joke that was always delivered so cleverly (you'd like that i put that!) You Mr Sawyer were truly one of a kind.  You have the biggest most wonderful caring heart. A family man who loved everyone dearly.  I am so sad i won't hear you say Miss Dixon again. Thank you for being part of ours lives. You are so loved and so missed xxxxxxxx
